HOW DO I SUPPORT THE COLUMBIA MIDLANDS SOAP BOX DERBY?

There are many ways you or your business can support the Derby. By becoming an individual supporter or a corporate sponsor, you are contributing to the continued success of an invaluable children's organization. CMSBD strives to provide a fun, low-cost family program with exciting events for all involved. These events are only possible from the support from our Derby friends, family and community. Ways that you can help are listed below. Thank you for your continued support! All of our racers appreciate your generosity.

Individual Soap Box Derby Supporter:

• First of all...get involved. Volunteer to be a Board member or on a committee. The Board meets once a month from August to Race Day. Alot of planning goes into pre-race events and Race Day, but the rewards are great! New ideas are always welcome.
  
• Be a volunteer for Practice Day and/or Race Day. We are always in need of (and grateful for!) folks to jump in and set out hay bales, safety rails, organize cars/drivers, pass out drinks/food to racers and volunteers, set up Banquet facilities. . . Just show up on Practice Day and/or Race Day and see an official in a yellow shirt for directions.
  
• Good Luck Ads: You can purchase a Good Luck Ad that will be included in our Race Program. These Ads encourage and support our racers. Ads can be purchased by family members, neighbors, co-workers, sponsors, etc.
  
• Make a personal donation or sponsor an individual item
  
• Help to raise the awareness of the local Derby: Talk about it to friends, neighbors, family. The Derby has been in Columbia since the mid 1930's and on Taylor Street for 10 years, yet few know we have a Local Race right here in South Carolina.
  
• Write a letter to the Mayor or Governor showing your support of our Local Derby. Tell them what a great opportunity this organization is for our youth and why Columbia should be proud to be the only official Race City in South Carolina.
  
• Encourage your employer, dentist, family doctor, insurance agent, and bank to become a corporate sponsor.

Corporate Soap Box Derby Sponsor:

We have a complete listing of items that are available for sponsorship. We are a non-profit youth organization, all donations are to benefit the children involved in our Race Program. All Corporate Sponsors must complete a Sponsor agreement Form and return with donation to the Derby post office address. Deadline for sponsorship info to be included in Program and on Derby shirts is usually around the first of May. Sponsor levels are listed below:

• Derby Friend, Level 1: Business Card Ad in the Official Race Program
  
• Derby Friend, Level 2: 1/4 page Ad in the Official Race Program and Company name/logo on the back of the Derby shirts
  
• Derby Partner, Level 3: 1/2 page Ad in the Official Race Program, Company name/logo on the back of the Derby shirts, 5x7 Honorary plaque, and 2 tickets to the Championship Banquet after the Race
  
• Derby Partner, Level 4: Whole page Ad in the Official Race Program, Company name/log on the back of the Derby shirts, 8x10 Honorary plaque, and 4 tickets to the Championship Banquet after the Race
